How does Mobile Deposit Help Me?
There’s no need to run to an ATM or branch to deposit a check when you have the ECFCU Mobile App. You can deposit checks directly to your checking account in a few simple steps by snapping a photo of the front and back of the check using our mobile deposit feature. Works for single- and multi-check deposits. The funds are available within one business day for your use.
What am I able to deposit?
Only checks made payable to those listed on your account are acceptable to be deposited with the Mobile Deposit feature.
What Items cannot be deposited with Mobile Deposit?
The following CANNOT be deposited with Mobile Deposit:
- ECFCU Check Drawn on the Same ECFCU Account – The deposit of a check that is drawn from and deposited to the same accountholder’s account at ECFCU is PROHIBITED. Deposits of this nature may result in the immediate revocation of services.
- Non-Negotiable Items– The deposit of any item stamped with a non-negotiable” watermark is PROHIBITED. Deposits of this nature may result in the immediate revocation of Services.
- Altered Checks– An altered check is any check that contains evidence of a change (correction fluid, crossed out amounts, etc.) to information on the face of the check. Members with altered checks MUST get a replacement check from the maker before ECFCU will accept the deposit.
- Foreign Checks– A foreign check is any check that is issued to you by a financial institution in another country (Canada, France, etc.).
- Savings Bonds– Savings bonds are not accepted through remote deposit.
- Incomplete Items– An incomplete item is any item that does not contain signatures of the maker, endorsement signatures, or is missing any of theinformation required during key-entry in a Deposit Session.
- Stale-Dated Checks– Certain checks contain instructions such as Void 90 days after issue date” or Must be cashed within six months of issue date.” Members with stale- dated checks MUST get a replacement check from the maker before ECFCU will accept the deposit.
- Third Party Checks– The deposit of a check that is made payable to a person who is not listed as an accountholder may result in the immediate revocation of Services.
- Substitute Checks (IRD)– Substitute checks that are created as a reproduction of a digital image of an original check are not accepted through remote deposit.
- Cash– The deposit of cash isPROHIBITED. Deposits of this nature may result in the immediate revocation of Services.
How do I use Mobile Deposit?
- Click on Camera icon to capture the front and back images.
- Use a dark background and adequate light. Hold camera steady while taking picture.
- Image will be uploaded when the Keep Image button is clicked on the Verify screen.
- After images are captured, select the deposit account, and input the amount and then Submit.
- For info on capturing image, click Info button on capture screen.
- The vendor may evaluate the images and return information about any corrections or concerns.
Depending on the messages from the vendor you may need to recapture images, fix the amount, or be unable to complete the deposit.
